FBA Must Have
There are few resources as precious as this one.
If you buy without looking Keepa over you are playing with fire.
At the beginning of my journey, I did not use Keepa.
I bought blindly, and still have a few of those items left, the products available to you are very meager at the start so you have to choose wisely!
There are a ton of good in-depth tutorials on youtube so I will skim this just to give you the heads up.
What Is Keepa
Keepa is basically an Amazon price tracker.
- You can determine sales with the Keepa graphs.
- Determine if Amazon is a seller or has been a seller
- If sales are declining
- How many sellers
- Who owns the buy box (this could be important for competing with Amazon or even big sellers
- and much much more

This tool along with Asinzen, determines everything I do basically in my FBA business. It's to me, so far, the only tools I really need to decide on purchases. More on another method later. Get used to this first and grow.
In this shot you see the graph, I sold this at Christmas, as you can see by the chart it did well for those months in the spread, I got in fast sold 10 and moved on, too many jumped in.
It's not the greatest chart but for seasonal its worth selling.
How Does It Work
Basically, just scan products, copy the ASIN if the metrics look good, like three but better four to five stars, Amazon is not on the listing, and you are eligible.
Open up Keepa and look at the graph. It will if all is good like a seismic activity chart during an earthquake that's good.
It will hopefully show zero Amazon and not have 20 million sellers as you dig into the data. Don't get complicated just check to make sure the BSR is backed up by the chart.
Meaning not a decline in price or sales. And no Amazon. Or some seller just made 3 sales quickly for whatever reason.
This was cut to preserve other sellers' rights. You will get buy box winners, if any variations etc, Click Offers and you will get a list of how many sellers and who with the offers. Click Prime for FBA sellers.
What's The Big Deal Then
Think about buying a car and not checking under the hood, the engine looks good but when you start it oil starts leaking and it is smoking.
Everything looks good on the surface, always check always always!
From the small seller as myself to the biggest seller on Amazon, they all consult Keepa.
You can use it in combination with other tools once you get deeper into it. There is a lot it can do and show you, including what other sellers are selling and for how much.
It makes a pretty great research tool.
Check Instore
Once you get the hang of it, it is pretty easy to check in-store. Just keep chrome running with Keepa logged in and flip back and forth, as said it goes pretty fast once you get the hang of it.
There are a couple of paid scanners that have a Keepa connection built-in, but I didn't like them too much, just as easy to use seller app and chrome myself.
You should take your time to begin anyway, don't buy if you're close to your source, go home and run it through the program first till you get used to what you're looking at.
In this graphic, you see the history of price rank for all as well as FBM= Fulfilment by Merchant (you sell on platform but ship). The 90 average is pretty important. Pay attention to that.
That's a pretty fast tutorial , there are a ton of cool ways to use keepa and a ton more of data that is extremely useful, but its enough to get you going in the right direction. And making the right choices.
